Happy 8th Birthday, Seattle!

Seattle Testbed turns eight! Since its inception, more than 100 developers from over 30 institutions all over the world have contributed to its code base, dozens of security, networking and OS classes have used it, over 4,000 users have registered at the clearinghouse, and more than 10,000 resource donors have installed Seattle Testbed on their machines. Thank you very much to all of you!

Seattle Testbed continues to evolve, and appreciates your contributions --- just head over to  our repositories and send pull requests! An updated version of Seattle Testbed's  Repy (Restricted Python) sandbox is scheduled for release soon, as is support for the  OpenWrt platform. Features like support for IPv6 and other sandbox types are in preparation.

Happy 8th Birthday, Seattle!

Albert.

September 17 service interruptions

Due to electrical work in our datacenter, the  Seattle Clearinghouse and auxiliary services will be offline, starting on Thursday, Sept 17, 10 PM EDT, through the morning hours of Friday, Sept 18.

This outage does not affect experiments you are running on Seattle nodes (which aren't physically located in our datacenter), but you will not be able to aquire or release nodes through the clearinghouse during the outage. Also, "browsing" for nodes may temporarily fail during the outage.

Infrastructure Outage

We are currently experiencing an outage of parts of the Seattle infrastructure. This might affect your ability to acquire vessels via the Seattle Clearinghouse. We're working to get things under control again -- if you run into problems, please drop us a line at seattle-devel@… so we can troubleshoot.

Thanks,

Albert.

There will be a power outage on the 16th of August lasting from roughly 7AM Eastern time until 7PM. This is due to the university performing construction work.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

HTTPS temporarily disabled!

Due to the recent discovery of a bug in OpenSSL ( CVE-2014-0160"Heartbleed"), we were forced to disable HTTPS on our websites to prevent leakage of sensitive material.

This means that currently, communication between your browser and our websites is done in plaintext and is not secured. Avoid logging into our sites, or your credentials might be exposed to eavesdroppers.

We are working to restore services. In the meantime, we apologize for any hiccups you might experience. (If a page you are trying to visit appears unavailable, try prefixing its address with http:// instead of https://).

Thanks,

Albert.
